Itinerary
DAY 1
San Jose |
Assistance at your arrival
to San Jose Airport by a CANATUR (Costa Rican Chamber of Tourism)
representative, and transfer to your hotel. There you will
receive a briefing on your tour and vouchers covering all the services
included.

DAY 2
Poas Volcano / Saripiqui River |
We begin our journey by
having a typical Costa Rican breakfast in the countryside and visiting
the beautiful coffee fields of the area. We then visit the Poas
Volcano National Park craters and cloud forest trails and Botos Lagoon.
We then go to La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park where we have lunch,
explore one of the largest butterfly gardens in the world, and hike to
several beautiful waterfalls. After a short bus trip, we take a
relaxing boat ride on the Sarapiqui River, where you will observe a
great variety of the wildlife. Monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, and a great
variety of birds can be seen while on the boat. On our return to San
Jose we pass through the 45,899 hectare Braulio Carrillo National Park.

DAY 3
Arenal |
We depart to Arenal, where
we will see one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas. From our
observation point, you may see the night sky explode with ash and lava
in a natural display of fireworks (weather permitting). Next, we will
visit the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort where you can relax in the soothing
hot springs of the volcano. At a convenient time we will treat you to a
splendid dinner.

DAY 4
Irazu Volcano / Lankester Gardens |
Today's trip begins by
ascending to the breathtaking summit of the Irazu Volcano for a view of
the massive crater. On a clear day, you can actually see the Atlantic
and Pacific Oceans! After an exciting tour at the volcano, we will
descend to the historical city of Cartago. Here we will visit the
mysterious ruins of the old Parish and view the beautiful Basilica of
the "Virgen de los Angeles".
We then go to the tropical Lankester Gardens, featuring over 800
varieties of exotic orchids, various tropical flowers, and beautiful
plant life. This tour ends with a ride through the famous Orosi Valley
and the Reventazon River.

DAY 5
Tortuga Island |
We take a trip to the
Pacific coast, were we will board a luxurious yacht and head to
Tortuga Island, which is famous for its pristine white sandy beaches,
crystal clear water, and superb snorkeling. A wonderful buffet will be
served on the beach.
